Maine Army National Guard - The Civilian's Version
Who are we and what are our responsibilities as
"Guard Recruiting Assistants"

The responsibilities of a RA are to identify individuals within
their sphere of influence to develop potential soldiers, promote
the benefits of service in the Guard and input the potential
soldiers' profile data into the G-RAP web site to begin the
application process. The Recruiter Assistant must brief the
potential soldier that the information obtained will be utilized
exclusively by the National Guard for purposes of administering
the Guard Recruiting Assistance Program (G-RAP). Further
dissemination of this information outside the scope of the G-RAP
and the National Guard's recruitment process without written
consent of the potential soldier is prohibited.

Under no circumstances will payments be authorized for potential
soldier nominations that are entered on or after the accession date.
After entering a Potential Soldier in the G-RAP web site, the
Recruiter Assistants will arrange a meeting between the potential
Soldier and the RRNCO, accompany the RRNCO and potential Soldier
at a parental consent meeting for potential Soldiers under 18
years of age, and work with the RRNCO to prepare potential Soldiers
for the MEPS and ASVAB appointment. Additionally, the RA works
with the RRNCO to arrange the Potential Soldier's ASVVAB and MEPS
test. (Minimum score for the ASVAB test is 31.) And RAs update
their Potential Soldiers' status online weekly, noting meeting
dates, testing dates, and other progress toward accession.
